Timelines of World History contains numerous files arranged first in universal files by date, then by country, then by assorted subjects as listed on the main page. Also included are Today in History files. The local search engine is a powerful tool..

Clicking on the time period, when known, of a subject and then using the browser search tool works very well for phrases.
Films and quotes are best searched in the film and proverbs-quote files.

Most all the information listed is referenced as to the source from which I got the information. The reference list is posted under references at the bottom of the front page.

Dates are sometimes contradictory and when a valid choice is not clear I list the contradictions with references to the alternatives. Also books published specific to a given period are listed in that period, e.g. a biography on Whitman published in 1999 will be listed with others on the date of Whitman's death.

Many dates are not specific as to month or day. If the year is given I list the event in the specific generic order indicated below [Schemata]. This arrangement is pretty consistent throughout all the files and serves as an aid both to entering information and finding information, e.g. it helps to know that undated US political events of 1776 will be in the middle of undated 1776 events between art events and deaths, to be followed by events in foreign countries in alphabetical order.

I very much appreciate any feedback and suggestions. Use the email connection at the end of the home page.
